It's been a freaking weird day, to be sure.

Zebrasinamerica and I decided to go fishing, and we heard a weird noise in the weeds along the edge of the lake. It turned out to be a tiny tiny kitten, who decided to SWIM AFTER US. He definitely wanted to come home.

So he did. And we named him Solberg. :mrgreen:

And then we stopped by a used car lot. I've been needing a new car; definitely a Subie, preferably a wagon. I walked away, with no initial expectation of buying a car, with this $900 dollar bargain. I'd had no idea it was even there. I'm madly in love with this car.

Amazingly tacky door decal FTW!!! Has anyone seen that before? I sure hadn't...

It's a 1995 Impreza L Coupe, FWD, 103k miles. And it only cost me $900!! It's the beater of my dreams. I love it, from the stained seats to the non-workable headlight to the world's most obnoxious seatbelts. I'm going to RallyX the hell out of this car, that's for sure. First mods will include a light bar (Hella fogs and driving lights), a 1997-2002 model hood (I am a sucker for scoops, even useless ones), new starter/alternator, some work to the exhaust, and working air conditioning. Zebra said I should put a roof vent/scoop on it instead of that last one :mrgreen: I'm so tempted. This is a car I'm not afraid to mess around with!

So all in all, fate has decided to throw a bunch of random stuff my way today. I'll get a better picture of Solberg on the OBS's hood scoop tomorrow ;) Plus more pics of MY NEW CAR OMG- and, of course my DI sticker placement :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

That decal was the first thing that caught my eye too... YOU GOTTA KEEP IT! what a bargin, i hope you get some solid rallyx miles out of that car too.. sounds like you guys had quite the interesting day afterall.

Congratulations!!! new cars rule! even if theyre only new to you...

Thats awesome, you go out to catch fish and end up getting a cat instead. I must say it is a great name for him.

I believe the engine is a 2.2, actually. It looks to be in awesome shape, and the car is quick and responsive to drive. There's a slight issue with it starting- on the first attempt of the day it cranks and cranks but takes after about 10-15 seconds. After that it takes after two or three seconds. I was told it probably wasn't the alternator or starter, but might be an engine performance issue. It's going to get checked out tomorrow.

And the cat really did swim after us! He's adventure boy- he likes to ride on the headrest of my car when I drive. He's well named, I think ;)

Martinus, I'm the owner, both of the car and the cat. I was the girl with the outback wagon, and yep, they're probably the ones you heard about ;)
