i was woundering if getting some spacers would be a cheap mod to help widen my wheel base alittle and get better stability? plus with my stock wheels if i make them come out even with my wheel well it will look more custom and a little cooler. i dont want them to come out past it though and look like the low rider/ gangster cars. i know people do this with custom wheels but i wasnt sure how what a good place to get them from was or if it could hurt anything. i also didnt know how big of spacers i would need.... how long do you guys think they should be
bassically something like this.

I personally hate spacers and think it's a crutch/appearance modification. Realistically if you want to do it right, then do it right and get the wheels and tires to make it right. Which means wider tires and wheels. They wont necessarily give you a wider wheel base, but give you more traction. A wider wheel base on our cars can be a bad thing for off roading as you can easily destroy fenders with as much suspension travel you get with it.
Plus honestly, how many cars with our price point have the same stability and handling? Not many.

My thoughts on spacers....
#1 They add rotating mass
#2 They Move the wheel father out from the strut, increasing the leverage on the spring, essentially making your suspension softer....
#3 They will help wear out your balljoints ALOT faster because they are just like getting the wrong offset wheels...
Unless you know what you are doing, and are COMPLETELY redesigning your whole suspension, Control Arms, Struts, Tophats, then you need to look @ the angles of how stuff aligns up, and may possibly need some more offset.... Otherwise Spacers are for looks...

You guys, forgot increased scrub radius and the popular one: Oh noes, your wb will wear out faster !!!1!!11!!!
Serious. Add them if you want ,all the changes a 10mm spacer will have on all the above mentioned is prolly equal to nil ...
