Are the exhaust manifolds' on the STI any better than the exhaust manifolds' on the WRX? I was given an STi set and before I swap them I was wondering if it's worth it or not.

Send them off to Grimmspeed to get PnP'd and ceramic coated. I will vouch for the fact that they rule after getting this treatment (quicker spool and look totally stock).
As for the WRX / STi comparison, i am not sure how much of an improvement they are... can you even directly swap them? I'd be interested to know this as well since i am not sure if the USDM 2.0 and 2.5 motors have the same design where the exhaust manifolds bolt up.

There is no difference, they are both created the same with a crappy casting process. If you really want to see a difference, get them P&P'ed like Aaron said. Could also send them off to me, as I do P&P as well. Just sold my set of Headers the other day. ;)

It depends on the year. The 04+ STi exhaust manifolds are the exact same as the 02-05 WRX exhaust manifolds. The 06+ WRX exhaust manifolds are narrower with different bends. If you are going to have a set ported and polished, go with the STi/older WRX ones.

The JDM legacy ones are better. Someone had a pic in the parts shed. Smoother bends, bigger ID

There's also some clearance issue for the oil filter. Apparently WRX headers will interfere with STi oil filters.
