Could be a axel that is dry and needs to be rebuilt, also it could be a wheel hub bearing that needs to be replaced. It is pretty common that the WRX hubs go though wheel bearnings when driven hard and sliding in the dirt alot.

I have had this happen to me. Could it be the clicking from your turn signal clicking to the "auto off" thing that they do? Thats what I assumed mine was.

Hmm.. I just realized I dont hear them When I am driving it hard.....
Well Anyways.. I am chasing some of them This weekend and Next...
I have 1 mor event for the year then Paris is dedicated Snowcar.... And I need her to be tight by then....
Parts I just ordered Friday:
Another set of Rear subframe Poly Bushings (mine are loose or worn or something, clunking again)
New Front Control arm bushings (tossing the ALK thats worn/clunking, the control arms have play inside them)
New Balljoints (1 is stripped and welded in)
New Tie Rod ends (starting to pick up some play)
And I will check my bearings and CVs when I have all this apart... Also Going to look @ my exhaust squeak...

Sounds like a wheel bearing. I replaced my front driver side bearing because it was doing that clicking noise you mentioned... id be willing to put money on it.
The parts are fairly cheap (about $120 for the bearing and seals) but its a bitch to press the old seals out and get the new ones in.

Lol, it could be your signal thing, my friends Forester does that too, but it drives just fine.

yeah all of those squicks and clunks get fixed really quick when you turn the music very loud...
+1 on the bearings btw you shouldn't have to open the hood for this one...

If it's only when turning it's likely the CV wearing out. Jack the car up and shake the wheel. If it moves, it's the bearing. Inspect the axle and if the CV boot is torn and there is grease everywhere, that's your problem right there.

clicking went away.... but I believe my bearing needs to be replaced.... when I shake the wheel it does move.
