05 to 02 tranny

Hey guys,

how hard would it be to change the tranny from an 05 wrx to my 02 wrx?
i know i have to change the axles too because of the female to male connections.

does the overall length change? for the driveshaft to be changed as well?

also would i be able to use the clutch from the 05?
I know there was a change but i cant remember what it is.
and last but not least how hard is it to drop and install a tranny?

Why change the tranny? the gearset should be able to goin to your '02 just fine.

The 05 will work if its the same gear ratio. I think they are, but not 100%

I know they changed from 3.9 to 3.7 one of those years, but I believe it was when they started putting the 2.5 in the WRX and got rid of the 2.0.
