The 500's look great, and provide a huge increase in coverage and illumination. You need two more!!

Time for more pics as promised. I am not a professional photographer. I am not Elliott. I am using a Canon PowerShot A530 5.0MP camera I got for free.

Enjoy.

have you noticed any lightshake?

kreitz3
08-30-2007, 09:40 PM
I have a little bit of shake, but my grill is missing at least two of the clips. I got the idea from a guy with an 04 STI who did it that way and doesn't have any shake.

I also need to tighten down all of the bolts. We were doing this at 1 in the morning, so I half assed the tightening of some of the bolts until I get them adjusted where I want them.

HOLY DUSTY INTERIOR!!!

I can't keep off of the gravel roads and the last RallyX was a dust fest too.

Looks good! I wish I had some. Is the wiring hard?

Nope. The only hard part is the wire you have to tap into the main headlight harness. All you really have to do is unplug the bulb from the socket and put the wire from the relay on each on of the terminals on the socket. Whichever one makes the relay switch is the one you want to use.

I would like to make it to another one of the Detroit races this year. This time in my car. If so, you could bring something out and take some measurements. Maybe we would have enough time to rough fit something to give you an idea.

Yeah. Get with the times. There is even a guy who had two Rally 3000's but he just got rid of them to get two Hella 500's.

Disclaimer: This may or may not have had to do with an incident involving a fence.

Dan put them on his WRX bc of an accident at a TSD. He had Rallye 2000's... Too bad you can't buy them new any more :(

But he put 130 watt bulbs in them. Booyah!

How long till Dan's plastic housings melt?

I give it a month.

I have no idea. He ran them all night I guess. If those don't melt the housings, I'm going to throw in 100 watt bulbs.

Whats in them stock ? 55W ? You might get away with brigter bulbs, just only use them when you are moving ...

Aren't all of the Rallye series better than the 500s?

I'm a noob to lighting.. I think stocks are good enough most of the time... :shootsself:

Yes, they are & they are also XXX.XX$ each ! They where bad arse. Like 10in. in dia. and about 4 deep ... I think one was a driving pattern and the other a fog.

Yeah they are. He had to pitch the Rallye 3000's because a "dead end" sign hanging on a 1/2" dia. cable took them out. He needed quick and cheap replacement, as he was in the middle of a two-day TSD (Press On Regardless TSD held in Michigan)

oh snap what happened any thing major or is it just hood and bumper?

kreitz3
11-10-2009, 01:03 PM
From what I can tell so far, hood, bumper, grill, and rad support. And there is a coolant leak but I think that's just the upper rad hose. I haven't had much time to look at it and wasn't able to get the hood open by myself this morning.
